_“Let the beauty we love be what we do” —Rumi
_This line from a 13th century poet defines the inspiration and motivation behind my work. Where there is beauty, there is the potential for artwork. I may find that beauty in nature, in a personal relationship, or in a moment of wonder.

I use Shibori and other resist techniques to produce special effects and designs on natural fabrics. I then directly apply dye with brushes to the fabric or immerse the fabric in a dye bath. I often combine the different techniques on one piece of fabric creating an art cloth that is layered in color, texture and pattern.
After heat setting the art cloth, it is sewn into colorful tunics, scarves, jackets and other wearables.
